Today I got word that the School of Interactive Design is offering their Video game development course at a ridiculously low price of only $99 (normally retailed at $1188) for a limited time.
This course promises to deliver hours and hours of game design training that is suitable for all ages and skill levels. Learn to make your very own video games that you can then publish to the iPhone, iPad, and PC without learning a single line of code.
Here is a rundown of what the deal entails:
- One year’s worth of access to easy to understand tutorials on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Maya, Unity, and Game Salad.
- Includes the following software: Game Salad, Maya, and Unity. (Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is NOT included). Might I just add that these included programs will normally cost you about $200-$800 if you were to purchase them separately.
- One year access also includes app design, computer animation courses, and more.
- Taught by industry professionals
Of course this deal had me hooked on the included programs alone so I purchased it and already spent some time browsing the tutorials. One of the included lessons is to create a complete iPad space shooter game from scratch. Now I don't know about you, but having zero prior knowledge of game development and being able to create one from start to finish is pretty damn cool.
If you want to learn game development but never wanted to shell out hundreds of dollars to do so, I would hop on this deal before it expires (which will be 16 days from this post) The best part about this is that these lessons are available online 24/7 and you can tackle this course at your own pace as long as you finish it within a year. But if you want my honest suggestion - you need to treat this as if you were in an actual class room. This means disregard the fact that you only paid $99 for this and make a commitment to the lessons. Oh and practice your ass off!
Also if you do purchase this deal you will have to register on the school's website before April 18, 2014 in order to fully activate your purchase. For more information head over to Amazon Local now.
